Position Overview We are seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise IT systems in a mission-focused environment. This role involves managing infrastructure across servers, storage, networking, and end-user systems while ensuring high system availability and performance.
The System Administrator will provide both Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, troubleshoot complex system issues, and work closely with internal teams to maintain reliable and secure IT operations. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems
Manage day-to-day system operations, including monitoring, performance tuning, and issue resolution
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (escalation) support for system and hardware issues
Diagnose and resolve issues across client, server, storage, and network devices
Assist users with accessing and utilizing IT systems
Configure and manage UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems
Install, configure, and maintain operating system software and system components
Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization
Perform system capacity analysis and planning
Support escalation processes and communicate system status to stakeholders
Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate resolution efforts
Provide detailed analysis and feedback on escalated issues
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
OR equivalent relevant experience
10+ years of experience supporting IT systems and infrastructure
Experience administering Windows and/or UNIX/Linux operating systems
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems
Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support in an enterprise environment
Familiarity with system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Familiarity with virtualization technologies and distributed systems
Experience with system automation or scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques
Experience working in secure or mission-critical environments
