The Analog Component Engineer will directly support Strategic Microelectronics at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. The ideal candidate will interface with various military program offices, prime contractors, designers, parts manufacturers, test labs and other government agencies—advising them on part selection. Additionally, the Analog Component Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting analog component issues and recommending solutions.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship and the willingness and ability to obtain a Secret-level clearance with the U.S. government.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ Years of Experience in component or systems engineering with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE parts.
  • Basic understanding of military industry standards (MIL-STD)
  • Knowledge of the different standards regarding the type of part being considered and possessing the ability to analyze the difference.
  • Knowledge of electrical test methods and techniques, radiation effects, failure analysis tools and techniques, and material analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and review test plan documentation.
  • Ability to provide full life-cycle support of strategic systems.
  • Willingness to learn best design practices for IEEE parts
  • Technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active U.S. Government sponsored Secret clearance
    • The contract associated with this position can sponsor and/or maintain higher level clearances if required.
  • Experience supporting government contracts not required, but a plus.
  • Knowledge of best practices for IEEE parts with a focus on IC’s, including manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of the differences between military, industry, commercial, and automotive standards.
  • Strong understanding of electrical testing of IEEE parts with the ability to perform basic electrical benchtop testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel: formula integration, macros, etc.
